Our Mission

Health – Quality – Well being

Ten thousand years ago the first period of domestication of the cat took place. Since then, several breeds have been developed according to certain characteristics that we sought to reproduce. Some appeared naturally to then be worked on by humans, while others are the result of human selection. Hybrid cat breeds are the result of a hybridization between a domestic cat and another compatible small feline.

We believe that these breeds, if healthy, should continue to exist and evolve.

The mission of a breeder is therefore to contribute to the continuation of this common history, and we feel privileged to work to do so.

For this beautiful story to continue in a positive way, we believe that it is imperative to adopt adequate regulations for animal breeding and to educate the public on the importance of choosing an ethical breeder. In this sense, your responsibility as an adopter is to ensure that you adopt your pedigree animal from an ethical breeder.

The ethics of a breeder is demonstrated at three levels, namely at the level of health, at the level of quality and at the level of well-being.

  • Health: An ethical breeder takes care to reproduce only cats in physical and psychological health, having passed a complete DNA profiling as well as the screening tests required for the diseases specific to their breed.
  • Quality: An ethical breeder only reproduces healthy cats that conform to the standard of their breed. The kittens are also registered with a recognized cat association such as TICA (The International Cat Association).
  • Well-being: An ethical cattery is a cattery that takes the physical and psychological well-being of its cats to heart. They must live in the house and not in another building. However, it is normal for some cats to be temporarily kept in a closed room for health, safety, or sanitation reasons. The number of cats must be reasonable given the space available. An ethical breeder makes sure to always provide his cats with an adequate environment as well as the physical and psychological stimulation they need to be balanced.

Finally, since we love cats and all animals, it is important for us to get involved in the animal cause. It is not ethical breeders who are responsible for animal overpopulation. However, not being part of the problem, we can and must be part of the solution. This is why, for each kitten adopted from us, a portion of the costs will be donated to the Humane Society of Canada, to support the animal cause.
